For those of you who have never been both the vintage races held in
Schenley Park and the Historic Races at BeaveRun are events not to be
missed. Both races are run by the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix
Association. The races at BeaveRun are open to just about all
production and race cars built prior to 1973. There are exceptions of
course, all TR6, 7, & 8 are eligible. There are enough classes so
anyone should be comfortable, but not so many that you do not get
enough track time. If you take advantage of all that is offered
during the weekend you could have 3+ hours on the track. You could
also squeeze in a slalom event. Add Friday reception and one of the
best track side parties anywhere on Saturday and it is hard to beat.
The races at Schenley park are geared to car built prior to 1960 but
there is at least one class that extends into the mid 60's. Your
entry fee to the BeaveRun races is made directly to the PVGPA
Charities so a fair amount of it may be able to be written off you taxes.
All of the info you could want plus forms, hotels etc is available
at www.cloverleaf-auto.com Just click the vintage race button and
follow to BeaveRun
Thanks and expect to see you there
