Hopefully this is the last question about converting my 4 speed to O/D
with a Quantum Mechanics kit. First off, thanks to Vance for his advice
on lapping down one of the spacers I was having an issue with (no
bushing float). That worked great, although it took a long while to go
from a 0.122" spacer to the final 0.113".
Now I have a question regarding the two clips associated with the O/D
pump cam. One is a ring clip and one is a spring clip. Both can be seen
in the TRF drawings and the Moss catalog. I can't see how both should
fit on the mainshaft along with the pump cam. It looks like the cam
should go on first (towards the front of the car), followed by the ring
clip, which would fit in a machined groove on the mainshaft. I don't
really see anywhere for the spring clip. I suppose it could go on after
the ring, but then it would be blocking what appear to be some oil
holes. Bentley seems to ignore these bits...
