Hi,
As Vance stated, "it depends". However, the TR6 engine is by design not an
interference motor, so there's a high likelyhood that 10:1 isn't going to
cause the valves and pistons to become intimate.
If you have gross valve lift under .400 or so, and you have flat pistons,
then you shave the head to within a few thou' of the fully extended valve
and still be "okay" unless you really over-rev the motor (and rod stretch
and other factors come into play).
But 10:1 with flat pistons and cams under .400 lift at the valve should be
no problem.
