I know this has been asked before (I know because I've asked it at least
once) but this time I'll try to keep the replies in a safe place. I'm
attempting
to upgrade my 72's alternator to the Bosch unit and change out the wirig
harness at the same time. I seem to have more wires from the harness than
connectors on the alternator. Alternator has: 1 3-spade connector (two large,
one
small) 1 single spade connector (marked +) and 1 threaded post that I'm told
isn't used.
My harness has four/five wires/connectors: 1 large Brown/white, 1 small
Brown, 1 single Brown/yellow, 1double Brown/yellow. I have a diagram someone
sent
me that shows Large B/W to large 3-spade, B/Y to smaller connector on 3-spade
and Small B to single spade. This leaves me with at least one B/Y leftover.
Is this right? If so can I just tape off the unused wire(s)? the Diagram
also shows I need to run another 10guage wire from starter to 3-spade. Is
this necessary in the 72?

Any help clearing this up before I burn something up would be appreciated.
