Al---They both should work fine. There is an appearance difference where
the float bowls connect, the HD8 being integrated, and the HS8 having an
outside flexible tube that permits the fuel to flow to the main jet. I
would assume the needle choices to be the same for either. However, if
you have a choice in purchasing one or the other, I believe the HD8
would be easier to work with. Those of us with the HD8 seem happy enough
with with this carburetor

Anybody know the difference between HD-8 & HS-8 SU carbs? Would there be
a difference if the HS-8 were used on a supercharger.
