Joe:
Uhhh... bad ammeter? Just my guess. Those little rascals are
trouble prone, hence the switch to the voltmeter later in the production
run.

Subject: stuck ammeter
When I hit the starter, the needle usually gets stuck all the way to the
right on the discharge side. If it starts, I have to rap on the dash to
release
it. If I turn off the igniton, the needle usually falls without having
to bang
on it. I have a bosch alternator with no changes to the wiring harness.
The
car has been disassembled and reassembled and everything works fine.
What's
wrong here?
