Micky:
Probably cheaper to buy used ones from someone like
British Auto Works. Ask them for a quote. They respond to emails rather
well.

Subject: De-chroming question
Anyone had any experience with de-chroming parts? My DPO had the great
idea
of chrome plating misc. hardware like the boot and bonnet hinges, stay
rods,
radiator braces, etc. Would be OK (if a little strange) except he
apparently didn't have the hardware chromed right and now it's flaking
off. I've been
told I can have the parts de-chromed at a location that does chrome
plating
but don't know what to expect in terms of cost. Would assume it's less
than
having the parts chrome plated? Also, any particular suggestions for
treating the metal once de-chroming is complete?
I'm getting close to having the 6 back on the road -- fewer and fewer
parts
bins in the garage. Now would be the time to do any dechroming that
should
be done.
