brake squeal (2)

After my last post regarding shims and anti-squeal spray, I just thought I  
would experiment myself.  I removed the shims, cleaned everything with  brake 
cleaner, and used the spray on the back of the brake  pads.  The spray is made 
by CRC and comes in a can.  It is a  reddish tacky material.  Now the car 
brakes just fine, and the squeal is  entirely gone.  I'll keep the shims, just 
in 
case.
