Oliver--- One thing that can be done to get some adjustment back at the
rockers is to shim up the pedestals. There is a limit on how much this
should be done, as it changes the geometry of the rocker action. (Rocker
wipes the valve stem off-center) Usually when there is no adjustment
left in the ball studs when settingvalve lash, it is time to go with the
shorter pushrods. A lot depends on the thickness of the original head
before shaving.as to where ths modification needs to take place. 3.425

according to richard good, there's a lot of lattitude in shaving a head.
according to a mechanic friend of mine, there's a definite cutoff point
in retaining the original pushrods.
has anyone done this with success without changing out pushrods?
