Hi Friends,
I need some advice ... the TR6's transmission won't go into reverse. It
will not move into the right-side position (before pulling aft). It
feels like something is in the way / blocking it.
Last weekend, when I was coming home from the CT Triumph Register show,
the overdrive wouldn't engage .. first time .... Since the switch is
mounted off the bottom of the dash, I reached behind and wiggled a wire
... then it worked. Then it didn't.
I didn't mess with OD anymore and parked her in the garage when I got
home. Today, I pulled the switch, cleaned the terminals, hooked it back
up. I fired her up and BAM - no reverse. I rolled her out and took it
for a ride, everything works fine, OD works fine, switch seems fine now,
but still no reverse. It's a type J OD. It was not driven in reverse
w/OD switch on, to the best of my knowledge.
Any ideas, things that I should look for or do before I start calling
the LBC shop near here (Lime Rock Motors, near the track) and have to
turn her over to them?
