I noticed that my trunk light does not light up when the lid is opened. The
bulb and fuse are fine. I removed the inner panels from the trunk and
figured out how the mechanism works: There is a pin switch (plunger) which
pops
out when the lid is opened because pressure from the hinge is released. That
must provide a ground for the circuit. This is a purple wire. I found the
red wire which supplies power to the circuit and it has no power according to
my test light.
Where does that red wire come from, and what is the most practical way to
trace it back to wherever the problem is? The Haynes manual doesn't have much
in this area.
Thanks in advance.
