Michael -
Yes, there's a few of us (emphasis on few), and as others
have said, it was a 1976-only colour. I've had mine since 1989 -
It was a VERY original car (<31,000 miles) so I know the paint
was original. I've seen a number of others over the years though
I've been to a quite a few VTR Nationals where I was the ONLY TR6
in Tahiti Blue. Most have black interiors - mine and others have
Tan inside.
Tahiti Blue was originally a Spitfire color and is very similar
(if not exactly the same) as the MG color Electric Blue. When I
went looking for touch-up paint back in '89, I was told by the
folks at TRF that Tahiti Blue was not an original TR6 color -
after some discussions, it was added to their charts. A friend
in NJ has (had?) an exact sister car to mine that was only 7
VIN #s from mine - they obviously went down the assembly line
the same day.
Good luck with your 'new' car!
