Ignition

I have been reading a lot of the questions and answers and have had all my
questiuon answered so far and would like to thank all smart people for your
indirect help. This website is great. My question now is this.
I have a 74 TR 6 original condition and the ignition switch went out. How does
the the switch on the back come off. I have the padding around the key part.
Do i have to take the whole key assembly out iof so how does the padding come
off also. Thanks
