Now seems to be a good time to mention that these oil seals, in many cases, can be easily relocated so they come to bear on a different part of the spinning shaft, if you see or feel a wear line. I've done this at the tranny output shaft, the diff pinion shaft, the rear main seal housing, to name a few. It's only necessary to slide the seal forward or back about .030 to pick up an unworn area. Dick |
