Mark: You are correct; I went back to the wiring diagrams for this - The '69 - '73 TR6s had a trunk light that is wired straight to the hot lead of the battery; i.e. The lights need not be on for the light to function. Beginning in '74, the trunk light requires that either the parking or head lights be on for the trunk light to function. Mine is a 74, so of course the light doesn't work unless the parking lights are on. Go figure....
