You are correct, it cannot be removed without taking the rear hub
apart, which will require special tools. And even with special tools
there is no guarantee it will work. Although the rear hub is heavy when
I replaced my U-joints I don't recall that the rear hub weight was all
that problematic. I had to just take a little extra care in supporting
the weight.

I have been assuming that I can not remove the outer axle shaft ujoint
yoke from the rear hub w/o the special rear hub tools. So when
installing new ujoints I will have to handle the entire hub -- it's
heavy.
I mentioned this to someone and he said he didn't think that it was
true, but didn't say it with much conviction IMO.
I'm stuck here in Arlington Va. and my hubs and Bentley are back home
in Binghamton so I can't look at them.
Can anyone tell me if the outer axle shaft with ujoint yoke can
"easily" be removed from the hub?
