This has come up on the list before. I repeat what was said.
The TR250 used a pull type starter so the starter motor gear was behind the
flywheel and was pulled
towards the starter motor to engage the ring gear. The TR6 went to a push type
starter, but Triumph
never turned the ring gear bevel around to face the front of the engine, so all
the TR6's appear to
be on backwards. The general opinion is that it doesn't make any difference.
