Dennis,

I have 6x9 triaxial (sp) speakers on the rear shelf with an old amplifier from
the 80's with an old no name cheap cassette deck two speaker radio that was
never stolen in 23 years even while in college.
I was just wondering what size speaker fits in the trim panels because I was
contemplating about putting in the current garage radio (pioneer car radio)
into the TR6. It has four channels. I just don't see how the panel speakers
are going to be heard without an amp and with your knee in the way of the left
speaker going 70 mph with the top down. I think that I will just use the rear
channels of the garage radio if I install it. It would be nice to have bass
and treble control for a change!

Thanks for the reply,

Greg

Greg -
If I remember correctly, the 'standard' hole cut in the pads will fit a
5 1/4" speaker (tho' the hole can obviously be made bigger). I found
a (somewhat expensive) pair of Infinity speakers at Circuit City a few
years ago that fit right in.
It's nearly impossible to hear those speakers with the top down, road
noise, etc, plus my right knee sits directly in front of the left speaker.
I
put a tiny 80 watt Jensen amp in my glovebox connected to 2 remove-
able Bose speakers on the parcel shelf behind the seat. When I want
to, I can hear the radio/cassette deck...
