        Bill:

With the car on jack stands, I would not expect a drop in RPMs,
as there is no load on the rear wheels. Instead, I would expect the rear
wheels to speed up.
With the wheels off the ground, I would look for the indicated
speed on the speedometer to rise noticeably with little or no drop in
RPM. (about 20%).
If you get no increase in indicated speed, and/or no drop in
RPMs then the OD is not engaging. You should check to make sure that the
engagement lever is properly adjusted.

        Cheers,

        Vance

Hi All,
I recently purchased a rebuilt A-Type OD for my 1971 TR-6. It has been
installed and is still on the jack stands, but I can't get the OD to
kick in. It goes through the gears fine and the solinoid kicks in and
out OK, but no drop in RPMs. I tried manually to do it with the lever
on the opposite side of the solinoid with no luck. It is filled with
gear oil. I would appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Bill
