front suspension rebuild question

Hello, 
After 2 months I finally have passenger  side
suspension together. For those that have rebuilt the
front suspension before, did the vertical link feel
stiffer when you moved the vertical link left to
right? I remember when i was disassembling the
suspension when i  took off the tie rod the vertical
link was very loose, now it is fairly stiff when you
move vertical link by hand.
