Walt----Tell the guy behind the counter you want the Delco alternator
for an " '80 Cheve Monte Carlo 6". The cost should be between $25 and
$50 for a rebuilt one. (Some stores guarantee them for "life".
The back case for these alts can be clocked in several positions to get
the wire connections
in a decent match with your existing harness.

I know that this subject has been discussed numerous times in the past.
Please bear me this question: I want to convert to a GM style or Bosch
alternator. Can someone give me an alternator source/part number as a
starting point? I have the Dan Masters book which describes the
procedure. My car is a 1972 TR6 utilizing the double plug/5 wire setup
on a Lucas alternator.
Thanks.
