Have one idea, which probably isn't the correct one....but
On the right side of the OD unit top there is a 'cap screw' type thing.
At one time they were painted red - dunno if they still are. Activate
the OD manually at least ten times as there is a whole lot of oil
pressure potentially behind this screw (~400 lbs) and remove it. Keep
your head out of the way just in case. Under it there is a needle valve
thing that look like a long rod . It just sits down in there. There is
an oil passage in this rod and if it becomes plugged up the OD will not
function properly. It's a small hole and can become easily plugged with
crud.
