Went to the Chanute Shoot Out today. Great fun, Great weather and Great
folks!! Had to drive the Mini Cooper as I was in KC picking up a load of parts
the day before. Turned in a 106 mph on the maiden run learning the track then
picked it up to 116 & 117 before calling it a day. Fastest time I saw was 125
mph turned in by a new Jag S type R. This is a straight shot on the Chanute
Airport runway for 5/8 mile distance, speed trap timed. There was another
fellow Triumph Nut there with a GT 6 sporting a V8 with a 5 speed. He made 2
runs
both at 111 mph because he was pegged out on the differential. Car had
plenty more but just not a tall enough rear end. Wait till next year!!

To all those that couldn't make it you need to try this one. It is one of
the few times we can truly turn our cars loose!!

Hope to see everyone at TRA in Branson June 23 - 26 as we have a GREAT
program scheduled. Don't miss this one folks, it's in your back yard and with
room
rates @ either $40 to $50 per night it is tough to complain about expenses.
Especially when you on have to drive 3 to 4 hours. Come on out. There are
trophies for ALL classes of Triumph.

Cheers,

Gary Fuqua
Branson, MO

Ps...There were LOTS of MG's there with many turning in the mid 90's and a
couple of Midgets that were pushing 90 hard. Simply HAVE to have more Triumphs
to defend the Standard!!
