TR6 Sealant (Fenders)

Hi, I'm doing a frame off on a TR6,when I pulled the rear wings (fenders) 
there was a sealant around the entire edge of the fenders to prevent water 
from passing through. I want to use a similiar selant when I put them back 
on, one that does not set up and get hard but has more of a putty feel like 
Triumph used. What is everyone using? Thanks
