When I was cleaning the carb on my spitfire, I was told that a tooth
brush and some aluminum mag wheel cleaner was the best way to go...
Turns out it worked quite well... ok granted, I've seen some
professionally rebuilt and powder coated ones that are fantastic, but
overall the wheel cleaner did a good job...

Gradually, I've been cleaning up my engine here and there. Now I'm
looking at the exterior of the carbs and they are pretty dirty. It
didn't seem like it would be too smart to coat them up with a bunch of
Gunk and then hose them off. What's the best thing for cleaning these
up? Thanks for any suggestions.

Mike
