Mike---Rumors like this have been flying ever since Ca. relinquished
these biennial tests on cars 30 years old, or older. There is
apparantly a small, but influential group who detest the "classic car",
and keep trying to push them off the road. They use skewed numbers,
saying these cars contribute too much to the smog problem, global
warming, ozone depletion, There's little doubt that they are not as
clean as newer cars, given that most are carbureted and without any
computer feedback controls.
While I still believe that we can keep these cars as clean as designed,
let's hope this group never gets its way...or the next step will be to
crush 'em all!

Dick,
I understand, per SCTOA, that the gubernator signed a bill putting all
collectibles back on the smog-check list when they reach 35 years
old.
Supposedly, it's not a full check.
What do you hear?
