Joe -
My answer is yes and no. I have an original factory hardtop that I
got with the car when I purchased it back in May 1989. It's perfect -
no rips in the headliner, the seals and the glass are great. However,
it has not been on the car since June of 1989 when I put it on to take
some pictures. I then took it off and it's been wrapped up in my mother-
in-law's nice dry basement ever since. Why? 1. It's a 2-person job to
get it on & off (and you can easily damage the paint), and 2. When you
put it on, you no longer have a convertible!
As others have stated, it does stiffen up the chassis, it is undeniably
one of the best looking removable hard tops on any car, and it makes
the car more comfortable in inclement weather, but if it's THAT inclement,
my TR6 is staying indoors.
