leaky float chambers

Hi Listers..I just replaced my float chamber gaskets. They only had 5000
miles on them so I was surprised they were leaking. The new ones that I
installed with some Permatex gas-resistant gasket cement, also leak.
What's up? Should I be using 2 gaskets per carb? That doesn't sound
right. Anybody else had similar problems? Thanks as
