Way back at the begining of this tear-down, I was properly coached on the
virtues of bagging and tagging everything. Did it. I was not prepared for
the enthusiasm of a young assistant who decided to speed the old man along
(see where this is going?).
These fastners go from the prop shaft to the diff to the half shafts:
8 x's 3/8" X 1" bolts with 1/2" shoulder, marked with an "x"
4 x's 3/8" X 1.25" bolts with 1/2" shoulder, marked with a circle and "ROS"
4 x's 3/8'' X 1 3/8" bolts with variation in shoulder size and bolt end
marking.
Now the questions, which goes where? why are they different? is that why we
double catalogue?
