I hate to rain on this parade, but please be careful to compare apples to
apples.
The picture in the Moss catalog that I am thinking of shows an Autopower
competition roll bar in a TR3. You can get this same bar for a TR6 and it
is SCCA approved (it has a diagonal brace). It also bolts to the floor
(main hoop) and to the wheel arches (rearward braces)
With that bar, you cannot operate the stock TR6 convertible "hood".
There is also an Autopower "parcel shelf" roll bar. This piece (IMHO) is
for show only and does not provide adequate rollover protection.
If you are looking for a "real" roll bar that will fit under the "hood",
call Ted at TSI or work with your local fabricator. The Autopower bar is
made so that tall drivers can sit in the stock seat location and still
have thier head three inches below the main hoop. So it is quite tall out
of necessity).
Mandatory safety comment: real roll bars on street-driven cars can
actually be MORE dangerous than driving without. The principle
disadvantage of a roll bar in a street car is the possibility of closed
head trauma. If you decide that you must have a real roll bar in your
street TR6, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take some time and add dense foam to
any part of the bar that you might contact in the case of a shunt. The
snap-on leather-ette roll bar covers don't count, you need really dense
foam to soften the blows. The general point here is that you are much more
likely to get hit front/rear/side than you are likely to roll your TR6. In
the event of a front/rear/side hit, your body will deform a great deal and
an immovable object like a roll-bar will to "bad things to your noggin".
