Hey gang,

I had an oil leak at the original AC fuel pump which I thought was coming
from the pivot pin for the pump lever, so a used Canadian pump was tried with
Permatex #2. Believe it or not it still leaked.

So the Canadian pump was pulled. Would you believe the gasket which Moss sent
was cut wrong to seal the fuel pump to the block. That's a relief. It doesn't
come up high enough on the top to seal the flat surface on the pump completely
to the block. I wouldn't have noticed it if the gasket didn't stick to the
pump and reveal the gasket is 3/16" shy of the flange. Since the gasket was
1st put on the block and not checked w/ the fuel pump, it was never noticed.
I informed Moss what I found and they had had no issues on the gasket. I
suspect if the permatex Blue or black form a gasket is used then the lack of
gasket material wouldn't matter, but with #2 which isn't the form a gasket
type, then it would matter. So if you have an oil leak at the fuel pump, then
you might want to check it.
The problem was cured by making a trace off the gasket, but cutting the top
part higher.
One leak down, one to go. Well for the motor that is. The other leak is at
the front, behind the front engine plate. I suspect it's the dreaded sealing
block.
