Stuart---I've never tried seals on my valve stems. It seems like they
should help keep oil from tricklng down the guides.
I don't know why yours sound as if oil is still finding its way into the
combustion. (Are you using the supplemental oil line)?
It could be that whoever reamed out the guides went past the "loose"
side of the standard. If you only see this blue smoke on startup and
deceleration, oil is getting sucked into the combustion process. If your
rear fascia and bumper appears clean after a long drive, it may not be
of immediate concern.
