After my recent engine rebuild I just couldn't get the six to idle smoothly.
I had the needles screwed up to full richness but still had a lean condition.
Checked all of the potential sites to no avail. I re-adjusted the valves
and when installing the valve cover I noticed that the new hose that connects
the valve cover to carbs was a somewhat loose fit. I installed a hose clamp at
the valve cover attachment point. Voila!! I am now happy to say that I now
have a rich condition to contend with. I am now off to adjust the carbs and
set the dwell. I may even celebrate with an adult beverage. Jeez-sometimes
the
fix is so obvious.
