Stu---If the engine smooths out at higher speeds, when the engine is not
so fussy, it could be that you don't have enough richness in the mix at
idle. The equipment that you added almost always requires this. Try
running full rich on the ZS' (?) adjustable needles.
Test for air leaks with the ol' "hose on the end of the propane bottle."
Or just listen for such a leak. Stethoscopes can help here.
Partially block the air intake to the carbs with a couple of shop towels
to see if decreasing the air drawn in smooths out the idle.
