I drove the same route back in October of last year. I rented a Taurus (oh
dear!) and drove the hell out of it. I saw several Porsches, Vettes, but no
LBC's. I only wished I could have had my TR6 there too. It would have been
a blast!
Instead of driving north from San Francisco, I drove south towards San
Simeon. Went through Big Sur and could not have wished more to have had a
decent car to take the curves on US1. I will be back someday in the future,
this time in my TR6. Man what a drive that will be...

The family and I went to spend a week in San Francisco and had a blast.
After a few days there we decided to spend some time up at Bodega Bay
and the surrounding areas. While traveling up Rout 1 along the coast I
kept saying to myself, "man, would I love to have my '6 with me now." I
saw 15+ corvettes and about 8 or so Model A/Ts and the likes and 3 MGs.
But, alas, I saw NO Triumphs running that road.
I was really thinking that all TRs had vacated California when I spotted
a lone White TR6 (75+) going towards the lighthouse near Ft. Reyes (sp?)
on Tuesday afternoon - Top up!
My heart rejoyced.
Where are the TRs in N. California? Did I pick the wrong weekend to fly
along Rout 1 and watch the LBC show?
What a beautiful drive and sight. If only we could get all the GTA
members over there for a fun-run. :-)
