Bob:
The drain on the tranny is located on the bottom
centerline of the transmission about 1/3 of the way from the
front. Pretty obvious, and easy to drain.
The fill plug is halfway up the driver's side
of the transmission, about halfway from the front of the tranny.
The diff has no drain plug, unless it has been modified.
The fill plug is on the front of the diff, partially hidden
by the exhaust pipes on the passenger side.
Here is my experience: You will need to be able to
pump gear oil into the tranny in order to fill it. There is
no way you can "pour" the oil into the tranny, unless
you want to remove the tranny tunnel to be able to get at the
fill plug.
The diff requires that you be able to pump the oil
out (to drain it) and pump it in (to fill it). There is
no possible way to change the diff lube without a pump.
So unless you have a hand pump that is up to the
job, you are better off going to Jiffy-lube. They have GL4
gear oil too, which is the correct lubricant. They have all
the little gizmos to be able to change the lube. They can
grease the chassis too.
