Hi Joe, I have an original brochure and the paint does extend in a
straight line along the lower edge of the trim around into the wheel
wells. I found some of the original paint on my car and it was a stone
and chip paint that was fairly flat with some texture. I ended up using
pickup truck bed coating which is very tough and looks right. It looks
like undercoating, but goes on nice and even and has a texture that
seems to match the original. Make sure to scuff the paint before
applying. Hope that helps.
