Rick---Proper alignment to the two sprockets is good insurance for long sprocket life. However, worn (stretched out) chains can speed up wear of the sprocket teeth. This is usually visable if the teeth appear small, or sharp, with a ledge present at the roots of the teeth. You might want to compare what you have with new sprockets. Place a new chain around both new and used sprockets and check the "wrap". Dick |
