triumph6970?----It's possible to "pull back the fork" as you had asked,
by connecting it to the clutch shaft operating (three-hole) arm. I
suppose what you are trying to do is keep the T/O bearing from running
against the clutch fingers? If so, to keep such a spring from pushing
the SC piston back into the bore too far, it would be better to put a
turnbuckle with it. That way you could adjust the exact amount the fork
was pulled back. We know that if one were to pull the fork back too far,
the stroke might then be too short to disengage the clutch, as this
stroke length is marginal to begin with.
