Greetings, fellow fanactics!
I have another queasy question for you. I will removing the interior of my 72
with A-Type overdrive soon, so as to fix a leak around the gearbox/bellhousing
area. Since I will have gone that far, I plan on removing the gearbox and
inspecting the clutch assembly. In the event the clutch looks worn enough to
merit replacement, I need some opinions on the various brands. I've never
replaced a clutch before, but it doesn't appear to be rocket science.
Specifically, is the higher price of the Luk product over the Borg & Beck
justified by noticebly better performance and reliability? What about the TRF
Magic Clutch Kit? Do I really need the whole side package of additional parts?
Is there any reason to replace the slave cylinder while I'm at it?
All opinions and shameless self-promotion are welcome.
