Subject: TR6 SEAT BELT INTERLOCK REF: MIKES TR6 SEAT BELT WARNING DIAG
I raised the seats on each side of my 1974 TR6. Under each seat there is a
electrical connector. I reviewed the seat belt switches shown in the Repair
Operation
Manual section 86.65.31 under electrical and seat removal 76.70.04 under
body. The section under body shows a electrical connector like the one on my
car. I can not find a electrical connector as show in the section electrical.
The electrical connector as show on the diagram has a connector coming out of
the seatbelt connector cable near the bolt securing it to the floor, I can not
located this connector. I reviewed Mike TR6 diagram seat belt warning. Are the
connectors under my sets the belt switches labeled switch 2 and 4? If they are
how are they terminated. I am not sure if the driver belt switch and the
passenger seat switch are in the circuit.
As I was driving my car last week the brake lamp came on every time the car was
in gear (gearbox switch? what is its function). I think the original owner
switched the brake wiring with the seat belt lamp.
Each time the car was in gear the Buzzer and lamp came on. This just started
last week and has never happen before. I checked the brakes and they are ok.
I drove the car to the gas station this weekend with the buzzer and lamp on.
The car would not restart so I got out of the car to find the problem. I got
back in the car and it started right up.
