Jim,

The originals were bearing bronze. Phosphor Bronze if I remember
correctly. Phosphor Bronze is tough stuff. It is redder in color than
brass, but less than copper.

Thanks to everyone who provided recommendations on removing and
replacing the
bushing. I appreciate the input.

The bushings I bought from TRF look like they're made of copper. You'd
think
Triumph would have specified a harder metal originally.
