Jim---The two bushings, one on each side of the bell housing, can be
removed by drifting them from the inside of the case to the outside. The
shaft will first have to be removed.
You will note that nearly all of the wear will be on the rear of these
bushings, as this is where the thrust is absorbed during clutch
disengagement. Also note that the bore in the case is deep enough to
house two bushings on each side. Finding this, I turned the worn
bushings half way around and put them back in, with the new bushings in
back of them.
There are many variations to this, of course. You can go with longer
bushings, or two new shorter ones for even longer life. Some owners d&t
to add a grease fitting, which sounds good to me.
