Tim,
I have to agree with you on this. Most of the responses I have received
recommend the standard replacement bushings. As a matter of fact I just
received the new replacement mount set & the rubber compound is very
stiff. I am truly an advocate of poly material to replace standard
bushings but in this application it might be detrimental. I think damage
to the mounts from from a quick shift , aggressive start or vibration
will be better absorbed by a more compliant material. The standard
rubber material is by no means "soft" so to me Poly isn't worth taking
the chance of doing the job only to get a driveline vibration or noise.
The real fix here is to make sure the mounts are reinforced and check
the bushing for looseness and a snug fit.
