Oil Cooler & Spin On Adapter

I have a non oil cooler type spin on oil filter adapter for my TR6. I'm
thinking of installing an oil cooler and noticed that my adapter has "plugs"
where the oil cooler lines would attach. Are these plugs removable? If so,
would they expose threads to screw in the oil cooler lines? Has anyone done
it?
