Hugh,

I had a similar experience with him over some cam bearings. Even though I
had high bid of $43 I did not meet the reserve so I emailed him and asked
what the reserve was and if he'd sell at that price. Turns out reserve was
$50 - no big difference so I agreed to purchase them at his reserve. Only
then he did not want to sell me anything after extended emails. Seemed
somewhat cranky.

Very confusing non-transaction. If you ever read his auctions he has a
rather abrasive writing style when it comes to the "boilerplate" info a
seller may include at the bottom. It just seems that he expects certain
items to sell like gold and when they don't it bothers him. It's
unfortunate because he has some good stuff, just his expectations are a bit
unrealistic at times.

I don't know if I've been "blacklisted" but after hearing your story I would
not doubt it. But what the heck. We're all different in some way and this
is just one of those things. I'm sure he's an OK guy, just has a fixed in
stone opinion about the value of his TR stuff that any bid below that is an
insult. All you can do is shrug it off....
