Joe---Piston slap would be my guess for your cold engine knock. Some rebuilders insist on more running clearance than necessary for the stock, cast aluminum pistons. They do warm up quick enough and quiet down. If you can contact the builder, see what clearances he used. Standard clearance is around .002 If you installed the forged type of pistons, more clearance and slap is customary. Dick |
