Cliff---The Moss catalogue shows these axles can still be purchased as a
set. That being the inner and outer.
Clunks seem to be common in our Triumphs that have racked up lots of
miles. They are cumulative, and as such become noticeable when the drive
wheels change speeds. To eliminate all such sounds when changing gears,
or going into or out of the throttle, could require a complete overhaul
of the drive train. Given the large surface area of these axle shafts,
it is unlikely that they will leave you stranded because of slack in the
splines. If you want to get rid of the noise here, as well as in other
areas of the drive train, it will be an interesting undertaking, yet
do-able.
