Bob,
I recently drilled and drained the float in one of the jags.
Drilled a 1/16 hole in it, shook it to remove as much as possible of
the gas, then left it in the sun on a black piece of steel for a few
hours to evaporate the remainder.   I used one of those little
pencil gas torches to heat and soften the plastic around the hole,
and then using a nice flat screwdriver, gently worked the softened
plastic over the hole.  One more heat up, and a putty knife was used
to create the final seal...   so far it's worked perfectly...

sending unit? If
: not, how do I seal my old one after I drill and drain the small
amount of gas
: that someone got inside? What sealant is impervious to gasoline?
