What color is the smoke?
If it's black, that might indicate an overly rich mixture. Who knows why.
If it's blue, then the indication is that some oil is draining down the
valve guide and burning off on startup.;
If it's white, then you might have a head gasket problem or a crack in the
head/bolck causing coolant to leak into the combustion chamber.
